Using DMWire

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You add DMWire to your agent once (a connector in Claude, a config entry in OpenClaw), link your WhatsApp or Telegram from your phone, and talk to your agent in plain words. The Quickstart takes three steps.

Which AI agents work with DMWire?

Claude Code, Claude desktop, claude.ai (when your account shows the request headers option for custom connectors), Cursor, Codex and OpenClaw work today. Any MCP client that can send a header works too. See ChatGPT and other clients.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Not in ChatGPT on the web yet. ChatGPT connectors sign in with OAuth or no authentication, and DMWire needs an API key on every request. A sign in option for DMWire is planned. Codex works today: see Codex.

Which messaging apps are supported?

WhatsApp and Telegram are live. LinkedIn and Instagram are planned and not live yet.

Does DMWire write the replies?

No. DMWire runs no AI of its own. Your agent decides what to say; DMWire delivers it and brings back the answers.

How does my agent know a new message arrived?

It asks DMWire to wait for one with wait_for_messages, and gets the message the moment it arrives. Plain words explanation. Webhooks are there for people with their own server.

Safety

Will my WhatsApp number get banned?

It can, if it is used for unsolicited messages. DMWire links your number like WhatsApp Web does, which is unofficial. DMWire keeps your agent inside daily limits, warms up new numbers, and stops sending when it sees spam patterns. Answering people who wrote to you is the safe use. Nobody can promise an account will never be restricted. WhatsApp details.

Can my agent message people who never wrote to me?

A little, and only when it makes sense: up to 10 new contacts a day in early access, none on a freshly linked WhatsApp number's first days, and never the same opener to many strangers. On Telegram the agent can only message existing contacts for now. Limits.

What happens if someone replies STOP?

DMWire blocks further messages to that person from that account.

Account and data

How do I get an API key?

It comes with your early access invite. Join the list on dmwire.ai. Lost your key? Use the form on dmwire.ai with the email your invite went to, and we get back to you.

Where do I put the API key?

In your agent's MCP settings, as the X-API-Key header (or Authorization: Bearer). Never in a URL: DMWire refuses keys in the query string.

How many accounts can I connect?

One during early access.

What does DMWire cost?

No prices are published yet. Early access runs on free limits: 1 account, 50 messages and 10 new contacts a day.

Can I disconnect?

Yes, any time. Ask your agent to disconnect the account, or remove the linked device on your phone (WhatsApp) or end the session under Settings, Devices (Telegram).
